وكانت منظمة “العفو الدولية” قد أعلنت في تقرير لها أن سلطات السجون الإيرانية، بإهمالها المتعمد وعدم الاهتمام بالحالة الصحية للسجناء، ارتكبت انتهاكا صارخا لحقوق الإنسان وتسببت في وفاة ما لا يقل عن 96 سجينا.
وتحمل المنظمة الأحوازية للدفاع عن حقوق الإنسان سلطات النظام الإيراني المسؤولية الكاملة عن حياة المعتقل الأحوازي محمد علي أموري نجاد.
وتدعو المنظمة السلطات الإيرانية إلى ضرورة تقديم الرعاية الصحية العاجلة والمتخصصة إلى المعتقل الأحوازي، والإفراج غير المشروط عنه، لا سيما أن كون الاعتقال بحد ذاته تعسفيًا ومرتبطًا بأبعاد سياسية.
